Four teams remain perfect through the first four rounds of the 2025-26 easyCredit BBL season with last season’s German Cup winners SYNTAINICS MBC and promoted ProA champs VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier both among them. The league also still has four teams looking for their first win, including Basketball Löwen Braunschweig and last year’s semi-finalists MLP Academics Heidelberg. The week of action also saw German star talent Jack Kayil produce his first double-double for ALBA BERLIN.

Weißenfels start season 4-0 for first time with first win over Ulm since 2018
SYNTAINICS MBC remained perfect on the season in a battle of undefeated teams with a 75-71 home win over ratiopharm ulm. The win snapped a 13-game losing streak to Ulm dating back to April 8, 2018. Ulm jumped ahead by 10 points early in the game but trailed after 10 minutes. The game was tight the rest of the way and tied in the final minute when Jure Planinic scored and Collin Welp iced the game with two free throws. Weißenfels have now started the season 4-0 for the first time in club history, and Ulm fell to 3-1. Planinic paced five Wolves players in double figures with 15 points while Khyri Thomas collected 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Christopher Ledlum scored 19 points for Ulm, and Nelson Weidemann and Christian Sengfelder both had 11 points.
Trier stay perfect, Braunschweig still waiting for first win
Promoted side VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier continued their dream start to the season with a 78-73 home victory over Basketball Löwen Braunschweig to remain undefeated while the guests are still looking for their first victory. Braunschweig raced away for a 12-point lead in the first quarter but fell behind in the opening minutes of the second frame. Trier never trailed in the second half and built an 11-point cushion with under 3 minutes to go. Trier improved to 4-0 while Braunschweig are now 0-4. Clay Guillozet scored 15 points and Maik Zirbes totaled 12 points and 9 rebounds for Trier. Joshua Obiesie scored a career-high 25 points in the loss.
Würzburg still perfect after winning back-and-forth thriller over Berlin
Fitness First Würzburg Baskets remained perfect on the season by winning a back-and-forth thriller 96-92 at home over ALBA BERLIN. After 19 lead changes and 13 ties, Berlin were ahead 92-91 inside the final minutes but Marcus Carr hit a three-pointer with 24 seconds to go and Davion Mintz iced the game with two free throws. Würzburg improved to 4-0 and Berlin fell to 1-2. Carr nearly had a double-double with 20 points and 9 assists to lead the bench’s great output with 60 points while starter Mintz scored 19 points. Norris Agbakoko had 16 points and 19-year-old Jack Kayil collected his first double-double with career highs of 11 points and 10 assists.
Rostock grab first league victory of season, Heidelberg still winless
ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES collected their first league victory of the season by beating MLP Academics Heidelberg 90-79 at home to keep the guests winless. Rostock lost a 10-point lead in the first quarter to start a back-and-forth battle. The hosts led 77-75 with under 4 minutes when Rostock finished the game with a 13-4 run to move to 1-2 while last season’s big surprise Heidelberg fell to 0-4. D’Shawn Schwartz top-scored with 23 points, Lukasz Kolenda had 22 points and TJ Crockett added 16 points in the win. DJ Horne scored 22 points and Michael Weathers had 21 points.
Amadou Sow unstoppable with 28 points as Chemnitz win third straight
NINERS Chemnitz registered their third straight victory in the league as they rolled past MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg 111-88 at home. Chemnitz took control of the game with a 23-12 third quarter for a 3-1 record. Amadou Sow paced five Chemnitz players in double figures with 28 points. Ludwigsburg have dropped back-to-back games for a 1-2 record despite Traveon Buchanan scoring 19 points.
Jena nearly waste 27-point lead, keep Oldenburg winless
Science City Jena nearly wasted a 27-point lead but managed to fight off a comeback by EWE Baskets Oldenburg 95-92 on the road. Jena took over in the second quarter and led by 27 points at halftime. Oldenburg gave the home fans a reason to hope in cutting it to two points with 6 minutes to play. But the hosts could never pull back ahead. Jena moved to 2-2 while Oldenburg are now 0-4 including a 0-3 record at home, where they were 13-3 last season. Eric Washington led the way with 29 points and Great Osobor collected 28 points and 9 rebounds. Brian Fobbs scored 24 points, James Woodard had 23 and Christopher Clemons added 15 points and 12 assists in the loss.
Bayern blowout of Bamberg sees Jovic get injured
FC Bayern Munich cruised to a comfortable 96-81 home victory over BMA365 Bamberg Baskets to remain undefeated though veteran playmaker Stefan Jovic had to be helped off the court in the closing minutes. Bayern raced away to a 32-13 lead after 10 minutes and were never challenged for a 3-0 record. Bamberg have lost two in a row for a 1-2 record. Andi Obst drained 5 three-pointers for a team-high 21 points and Isiaha Mike added 20 points. Cobe Williams paced Bamberg with 21 points.
Late run gives Bonn victory at winless Hamburg
Telekom Baskets Bonn used a big fourth quarter run to grab an 86-68 victory at Veolia Towers Hamburg, who have not won this season in any competition. Bonn had a 18-2 run spanning the first two quarters to build a 16-point lead. Hamburg fought back to nose ahead late in the third quarter, but Bonn went on a 21-3 surge in the fourth quarter to get the win. Bonn have won two straight for a 2-2 record and Hamburg are winless at 0-4. Michael Kessens led Bonn with 20 points, Jeff Garrett had 18 points and Grayson Murphy collected 13 points, 4 rebounds and 11 assists. Eric Reed was the only Hamburg player in double figures with 19 points.
Kuhse carries Vechta past Frankfurt for first road win
RASTA Vechta collected their first road victory of the season by knocking off SKYLINERS 93-89. Vechta led for nearly the entire game and were ahead by 14 points with under 4 minutes to go before Frankfurt made things interesting in trimming the gap to three points. But Vechta moved to 2-1 and Frankfurt fell to 2-2, including 0-2 at home. Tommy Kuhse led all scorers with 27 points in the win while Jaedon Le Dee had 21 points and William Christmas added 20 points for Frankfurt.

James Woodard of EWE Baskets Oldenburg takes Player of the Week honors for his performance in a loss to Science City Jena with an efficiency of 29. The shooting guard scored 23 points on 6 of 11 shots - including 5 three-pointers - and 6 of 6 free throws. He added 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.

G: Jack Kayil, ALBA BERLIN
Kayil had the best game of his young career as the 19-year-old guard set career highs with 11 points and 10 assists for his first double-double to go with 3 rebounds - albeit in a loss to Fitness First Würzburg Baskets.
G: Joshua Obiesie, Basketball Löwen Braunschweig
Obiesie set a career high with 25 points along with 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in a loss to VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier.
G: Andi Obst, FC Bayern Munich
Obst drained 5 three-pointers in scoring 21 points in a win over BMA365 Bamberg Baskets while also tallying 2 rebounds and 2 assists
C: Maik Zirbes, VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier
Zirbes played a big role in Trier’s win over Basketball Löwen Braunschweig with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists.
C: Michael Kessens, Telekom Baskets Bonn
It was hard to not choose Jonas Wohlfarth-Bottermann of MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg for the Top Five with 16 points and 5 rebounds against NINERS Chemnitz. But Ludwigsburg lost and Kessens helped Bonn to a win over Veolia Towers Hamburg with 20 points and 8 rebounds. .

Grey started against Telekom Baskets Bonn, playing 23:06 minutes and tallying 6 points on 1 of 3 shots (0/1 threes) and 4 of 4 free throws, 4 rebounds and 1 assist.
Adrian Petkovic, 20, PG, BMA365 Bamberg Baskets
Petkovic scored 3 points as he hit his only shot to go with 1 rebound in 12:43 minutes against FC Bayern Munich.
Luis Wulff, 21, PG, ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES
Wulff started the game and played 11:39 minutes with 0 points as he missed both shots, grabbing 2 rebounds to go with 1 assist and 1 steal.
Germans Abroad
Karim Jallow has had a strong start to his first season abroad as the 28-year-old plays with Italian EuroLeague side Virtus Bologna. This weekend, Jallow had 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in the Italian league against Udine. In the second EuroLeague game of the season, he totaled 11 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block against Valencia.
