NINERS Chemnitz registered their third straight victory in the league as they rolled past MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg 111-88 at home. Chemnitz took control of the game with a 23-12 third quarter for a 3-1 record. Amadou Sow paced five Chemnitz players in double figures with a monster performance of 28 points. Ludwigsburg have dropped back-to-back games for a 1-2 record despite Traveon Buchanan scoring 19 points.
Game Summary: Amadou Sow started strong with a three-pointer and three-point play for Chemnitz’s first two scores. The game was tight and Ludwigsburg were down just 17-15 when another Sow and-one started a 9-2 surge to give Chemnitz a 26-17 lead. A second Nike Sibande three-pointer at the buzzer had the hosts up 31-22. Chemnitz could not score in the first 2 minutes of the second quarter but Ludwigsburg could only trim the gap to 31-26. The hosts answered with eight straight points and the lead was 13 points. The Chemnitz push continued with a 12-4 run to go ahead 51-32 and the cushion was 54-34 at the break.
Chemnitz remained hot from long range in the third quarter with three triples and the cushion swelled to 25 points at 67-42. Ludwigsburg’s defense managed multiple stops and Elijah Hughes drained three three-pointers in a 16-2 run to make it 69-58. Chemnitz found a bit more offensive rhythm and were up 73-60 after 30 minutes. Chemnitz reclaimed total control with three more triples in 13-2 spurt to extend the lead to 88-66 with 6 minutes to go. Ludwigsburg were not ready to give up and back-to-back triples from Traveon Buchanan made it 95-80 with under 4 minutes to play. Ty Brewer answered with a long ball of his own and Chemnitz fought off the guests.
Numbers Please: Chemnitz shot a blistering 60 percent from the field including 70 percent on two-pointers while draining 13 three-pointers. Ludwigsburg ended up shooting 21 percent from long range - 7 of 33 - after making just 1 of their first 22 long range shots.
Player of the Game: Amadou Sow was a force in the paint for Chemnitz with 28 points as he connected on 9 of 15 shots as well as 9 of 12 free throws. Sow also collected 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocks. Sow came into the game having scored a combined 17 points in the previous three games.

The Germans: Kevin Yebo totalled 8 points and 5 rebounds for the winners while Kostja Mushidi collected 5 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal. Jonas Wohlfarth-Bottermann had a big game off the bench for Ludwigsburg with 16 points and 5 rebounds. That was the most he has scored since hitting for 17 points against ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES in February 2024. Brandon Tischler chipped in 8 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
Better ball control not enough for Ludwigsburg: Ludwigsburg came into the game averaging 24.5 turnovers per game as the worst team in the league by far. Mikko Riipinen's men committed only 9 turnovers against Chemnitz but they couldn't hit anything from long range.
What's Up Next: Chemnitz will head on the road for their next game as they play at Besiktas Gain Istanbul in the BKT EuroCup on Wednesday October 15. Chemnitz’s next game in Germany will be the Round of 16 in the German Cup at RASTA Vechta on Sunday October 19. Ludwigsburg will also be playing in the German Cup as they travel to MLP Academics Heidelberg on Sunday October 19.
