After three rounds of games there are five teams still undefeated in the 2025-26 easyCredit BBL season with the biggest surprise being promoted ProA champs VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier, who ended two long winless streaks. The double-round of action also saw Telekom Basket Bonn’s Grayson Murphy pick up the first triple-double in the league in nearly three years. Five clubs are still looking for their first win with Basketball Löwen Braunschweig being the biggest surprise.

Trier still undefeated in return to Bundesliga, first win over Bamberg in nearly 22 years
Don’t look now but promoted side VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier are still undefeated this season after sweeping the double rounder - including ending two long droughts. Trier were playing ALBA BERLIN for the first time in 10 years and showed they are in the league for a reason with a 97-92 road win. Trier trailed by 16 points in the first quarter but came back and took the fourth quarter 29-17 for the win - their first over Berlin since April 24, 2013. Jordan Roland scored 24 points in the win. Trier ended an even longer drought against BMA365 Bamberg Baskets, winning 92-87 at home in overtime for their first victory over Bamberg in nearly 22 years - having lost 23 straight games. Trier wasted a 12-point fourth quarter lead but won it in the extra session for a 3-0 record as well as German Cup win. Eli Brooks had 24 points for the winners.

Weißenfels double up with wins, stay undefeated
SYNTAINICS MBC remained undefeated in the league at 3-0 after registering two victories - winning 84-77 at home over Telekom Baskets Bonn and then beating RASTA Vechta 96-83 on the road. Weißenfels never trailed but nearly blew an 18-point lead before fighting past Bonn thanks to Charles Callison scoring 21 points. The game at Vechta was tight for the first 22 minutes when Wolves blew it open. Marcus Foster and Khyri Thomas both hit 4 three-pointers and combined for 45 points in the win.

Murphy triple-double carries Bonn past Oldenburg for first win
Telekom Baskets Bonn registered their first victory in the Bundesliga as they split this week’s games. They lost 84-77 at SYNTAINICS MBC and then bounced back to beat EWE Baskets Oldenburg 73-71 at home for a 1-2 record. Bonn nearly came back from 18 points down but couldn’t finish the rally against Wolves. Grayson Murphy had 14 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Bonn battled past Oldenburg in a back-and-forth game which saw Murphy make history with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists for the league’s first triple-double in nearly three years since Luke Sikma managed it for ALBA BERLIN on November 20, 2022.

Ulm sweep double-round for 3-0 mark
ratiopharm ulm grabbed two victories during the week in beating EWE Baskets Oldenburg 93-86 on the road and then moving to 3-0 by winning 87-80 at home over ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES. Ulm and Oldenburg had 12 lead changes and 10 ties in a tough battle with Christopher Ludlum scoring 20 points off the bench. Ulm finally put Rostock away with a 30-19 fourth quarter as Christian Sengfelder led the way with 22 points and Tobias Jensen added 19 points and 8 assists.

Würzburg still undefeated after two wins
Fitness First Würzburg Baskets remained perfect in the league after winning both of their games - beating Basketball Löwen Braunschweig 92-80 at home and then downing MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg 84-79 on the road. Davion Mintz hit 4 three-pointers for 18 points as Würzburg took the second half 50-38 to decide the game against Braunschweig. Marcus Carr controlled the game for Würzburg against Ludwigsburg with 20 points and 8 assists off the bench as the guests forced 25 Ludwigsburg turnovers.

Braunschweig lose two more - drop to 0-3
Basketball Löwen Braunschweig still have not reached the win column after dropping two games this week - falling 92-80 at Fitness First Würzburg Baskets and then getting routed 95-73 at home against SKYLINERS. Konstantinos Papazoglou’s team could not keep up with Würzburg in the second half with David NGuessan scoring 21 points while the starters combined for only 32 points. Things fell apart against Frankfurt in the second quarter and Barra Njie’s 18 points could not make up the difference.

Heidelberg still winless after two home losses
MLP Academics Heidelberg are still looking for their first victory after they lost twice at home. Danny Jansson’s troops lost a back-and-forth battle 87-83 against promoted side Science City Jena despite Michael Flowers’ 19 points. Heidelberg trailed most of the game against Chemnitz and lost 90-83 with three players scoring 14 points.

Chemnitz pick up first two wins
NINERS Chemnitz collected their first two wins of the season as they beat Veolia Towers Hamburg 102-78 at home and went to MLP Academics Heidelberg and won 90-83. Chemnitz went on a 28-7 run spanning the final two quarters to beat Hamburg, Yordan Minchev tallying a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds to pace six players in double figures. Chemnitz led for most of a tight game against Heidelberg and Kevin Yebo (20 points/10 rebounds), Corey Davis (19 points/10 assists) and Minchev (13/11) all had double-doubles.

Bayern ease past Hamburg after EuroLeague double-rounder
FC Bayern Munich played just one game this week - having a double-rounder in the EuroLeague - and took take of business with a 96-79 home win over Veolia Towers Hamburg. Bayern led 30-17 after 10 minutes and never looked back to improve to 2-0. Xavier Rathan-Mayes had 18 points off the bench in the win.

Oldenburg still winless after dropping two games
EWE Baskets Oldenburg still have not won a league game after dropping two more in the double-round to fall to 0-3. Oldenburg, who did win their first round game in the German Cup, lost 93-86 at home against ratiopharm ulm and then were beaten 73-71 at Telekom Baskets Bonn. Oldenburg lost a back-and-forth battle with Ulm despite Brian Fobbs scoring 18 points. Predrag Krunic’s team could not salvage at least one win as they lost another tight game at Bonn, Fobbs leading the way again with 18 points and 9 rebounds.

Berlin split versus promoted sides
ALBA BERLIN started their season with their first two games and they split against the two promoted teams - losing 97-92 at home against VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier and beating Science City Jena 97-78 on the road. Berlin were leading Trier by 16 points in the first quarter and fell apart in the fourth quarter 29-17 in the loss with Rejean Ellis scoring 21 points. Malte Delow scored for a career high 20 points in Berlin’s blowout win over Jena, leading the bench with 69 of the team’s points.

Ludwigsburg split two games, beating Frankfurt again
MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg played their first two games of the Bundesliga and split them, winning at SKYLINERS 98-88 and then losing 84-79 at home to Fitness First Würzburg Baskets. After beating Frankfurt 101-96 in the German Cup, Mikko Riipinen’s men did the double thanks to a 33-18 first quarter and never looked back. Stefan Smith drained 6 three-pointers for 28 points. Ludwigsburg committed 25 turnovers in losing to Würzburg, Traveon Buchanan and Smith each scoring 18 points.

Jena beat Heidelberg for split, first win in league
Science City Jena picked up their first win in the league this season as they beat MHP Academics Heidelberg for a split of the week’s action. Jena won a dogfight with Heidelberg 87-83 on the road thanks to Keith Braxton scoring 23 points. Jena were not as strong in the second game, falling behind 27-15 after 10 minutes and losing 97-78 at home against ALBA BERLIN. Great Osobor led the way with 15 points.

The final award from last season was handed out this week as Michael Weathers of MLP Academics Heidelberg was given the Pascal Roller Award for the “Most Likeable Player”

Frankfurt split two games, keeping Braunschweig reeling
SKYLINERS grabbed their second win of the season as they split their action in the double-round. After having lost to them in the German Cup, Frankfurt fell once again to MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg 98-88 at home. They bounced back to defeat Basketball Löwen Braunschweig 95-73 on the road for a 2-1 record. Against Ludwigsburg, Frankfurt fell behind 33-18 after 10 minutes and could never really make it a game. Jaedon Le Dee scored 20 points in the loss. Frankfurt kept Braunschweig reeling as they allowed only 30 points in the second half. Isaiah Swope came off the bench for 26 points to lead the way.

Rostock watch Ulm pull away late in single loss
ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES played just one game this week and they dropped to 0-2 on the season with an 87-80 loss at ratiopharm ulm. Rostock hung close until Ulm mounted a 30-19 fourth quarter as TJ Crockett’s 18 points were not enough with DeAndre Lansdowne picking up 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the defeat.

Rostock lose Amaize for extended period, maybe even for season
ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES got some bad news this week as Robin Amaize went down with an Achilles tendon injury and will be out for an extended period - possibly even for the whole season. It was another major injury for the 31-year-old Amaize, who was playing excellently last season but missed about three months with a hand injury.

Vechta fall in Weißenfels for first loss of season
RASTA Vechta finally tasted defeat this season as they lost their only game of the week 96-83 at SYNTAINICS MBC. Vechta watched Wolves pull away in the second half to fall to 1-1 in the league. Alonzo Verge collected 19 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists in the defeat.

Hamburg lose two road games, drop to 0-3
Veolia Towers Hamburg have yet to win a game in the league as they lost two road games this week: 102-78 at NINERS Chemnitz and 96-79 at FC Bayern Munich. Hamburg conceded a 28-7 run in the second half in losing to Chemnitz despite Zacharie Perrin scored 23 points. Bayern took the first quarter 30-17 and Hamburg never really challenged the rest of the way. LJ Thorpe and Perrin both had 13 points.

Bamberg rally to force OT, loss at Trier for first defeat
BMA365 Bamberg Baskets dropped their only game of the week as they were beaten 92-87 at VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier on the road in overtime. Bamberg trailed by 12 points in the fourth quarter but forced the extra session. But Anton Gavel’s men could not come through despite Ibi Watson’s 26 points.

Two rounds of games means two Player of the Week honors. The top performance from Round 2 came from NINERS Chemnitz’s power forward Yordan Minchev, who registered an efficiency of 35 after scoring 25 points on 10 of 13 shots and 3 of 4 free throws to go with 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 turnovers against Veolia Towers Hamburg. Marcus Foster took the honors for Round 3 with an efficiency of 28 in SYNTAINICS MBC’s win over RASTA Vechta. The small forward scored 25 points on 8 of 13 shots and 5 of 5 free throws and added 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

G: Justus Hollatz, FC Bayern Munich

Hollatz played a strong role in Bayern’s win over Veolia Towers Hamburg with 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal

F: Nolan Adekunle, VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier
Adekunle has had a strong return to the Bundesliga as the former Frankfurt forward had two big games for undefeated Trier. He collected 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in the win over ALBA BERLIN and then had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in beating BMA365 Bamberg Baskets.

F: Eddy Edigin, Fitness First Würzburg Baskets
Edigin had a strong week for Würzburg with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists in beating Basketball Löwen Braunschweig and then collected 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal against MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg.

F: Christian Sengfelder, ratiopharm ulm
Sengfelder has enjoyed his return to the league as he totaled 11 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist in the win over EWE Baskets Oldenburg and then had 22 points with 4 three-pointers, 3 rebounds and 1 assist against ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES.

F: Kevin Yebo, NINERS Chemnitz
Yebo helped Chemnitz to two wins with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block against BMA365 Bamberg Baskets and then had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds to go with 1 assist and 1 steal against MLP Academics Heidelberg.

Young Guns
Jack Kayil, 19 PG, ALBA BERLIN

Kayil played 17:15 minutes versus VET-CONCEPT Gladiators Trier and had 6 points on 2 of 7 shots with 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 steal. The teenager then picked up 8 points on 1 of 4 shots and 5 of 6 free throws, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals in 14:57 minutes against Science City Jena.

Jared Grey, 20, SF, Veolia Towers Hamburg
Grey continued his strong early season with 4 points on 1 of 2 shots and 2 of 2 free throws and 2 rebounds in 14:46 minutes versus NINERS Chemnitz as well as 7 points on 2 of 2 shots and 3 of 4 free throws and 1 rebound in 17:12 minutes versus FC Bayern Munich.

Lenny Anigbata, 21, SG, MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg
Anigbata totaled 2 points on 1 of 3 shots, 2 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block in 18:39 minutes against SKYLINERS and then picked up 5 points off 2 of 4 shots, 4 rebounds and 1 block in 12:32 minutes versus Fitness First Würzburg Baskets.

Germans Abroad
Isaac Bonga has had a strong start to the EuroLeague with Partizan Belgrade as he averaged 8.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals in the Serbian side’s opening double round week.
